The American Technology Corporation describes the HyperSonic Sound® technology (HSS) as a
"system that transforms specific areas into consistent virtual listening areas without the pervasive
omni-directionality of conventional loudspeakers. This means a target audience can hear exactly
what you want, exactly where you want them to. Designed to target a specific area, HSS uses a
tightly focused directional beam of sound that is heard only by those in the selected area."

"The high-precision targeting of HSS significantly minimizes the levels of noise pollution in both open and confined spaces
and anywhere else ambient noise is an issue. HSS also ensures that your intended audience receives the messages
conveyed through the system clearly and intelligibly.
Through the combination of an ultrasonic powered emitter and a
signal processor/amplifier, HSS focuses sound into a tight beam for optimal directionality and intelligibility."

For the Without My Time installation the HSS system would be placed over the projector, in front of the brick and would
provide an extremely accurate control of sound placement in the immediate area in front of the installation.

More information on HyperSonic® Sound technology is at the American Technology Corporation product overview page.
